CHAKARATHALWAR

Sri Sudarsana is the weapon; discuss which Lord Vishnu holds in his upper right hand. He is seem in the temple in an Idol form in the mystry symbol of wheel (Chakra) consisting of six spokes. He is said to be wielding sixteen weapons in his sixteen arms. He is to be invoked by a six-lettered manthra.

The shrine of Chakarathalwar in the Srirangam temple is in the fifth prakara (Akalankan thiruveedhi) in the western wing, and faces east.

All Saturdays and the entire month of Purattasi (September and October) are considered most appropriate occasions to invoke his mercy.
